Modular Modular Signage System

Modular Modular Signage System

This product, brought to you by Orlanto, features a split design with a fixed base and replaceable insert cards. Once the base is installed, all future content updates are done by manually swapping the insert card – no drills, glue guns, or tools required. The base is made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel for superior durability, and the inserts can be customized in bulk. Compared to traditional one-piece signs, the total cost of ownership is significantly lower. It adapts to a wide range of indoor and outdoor environments and offers various sizes and mounting options to meet your on-site standardization needs.

Product Detail
Modular Signage System | Orlanto

The Modular Signage System splits the traditional one-piece sign into two independent parts: a fixed base and an information insert, connected via a standard slide track. The base is permanently mounted on walls, equipment, or pillars, while the insert carries text, graphics, QR codes, and more. When on-site information changes, simply pull out the old insert and slide in the new one – no tools required. One person can complete the update in seconds without disrupting normal operations. Core Advantages

Traditional signs require full replacement and re-drilling for every content change – a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. With this system, the base is installed once and reused indefinitely. All future updates are done by swapping the insert alone, reducing modification time from hours to seconds. The base is made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel with anti-corrosion treatment, capable of withstanding outdoor weather for over five years. All bases are standardized, so no matter how many times the insert is changed, the overall appearance remains neat and consistent. Total maintenance costs are significantly lower than traditional one-piece signs.

Product Structure

The base plate is made of high-strength extruded aluminum alloy with an anodized or powder-coated finish. It is available in standard A4 and A5 sizes, with non-standard sizes available upon request. The back features industrial-grade double-sided tape and pre-drilled screw mounting holes. The transparent card holder is made of polycarbonate with a spring-loaded opening mechanism for smooth operation, offering dust and splash protection when closed. The insert cards are made of PVC or thin metal sheets, supporting full-color printing, screen printing, or write-on/wipe-off whiteboard film. They can accommodate text, graphics, barcodes, QR codes, serial numbers, and more in batch production.

Mounting Options

Multiple mounting solutions are available for different site conditions. For walls, choose between adhesive mounting or expansion bolts. For cylindrical posts, use stainless steel cable ties or specialized brackets. For ferrous metal equipment surfaces, optional magnetic mounts allow tool-free attachment. For temporary displays, optional desktop stands or floor stands provide easy mobility. For large-format signs, screws are recommended over adhesive mounting for safety.

Application Scenarios

The product covers signage needs across multiple settings. In production workshops, it serves as equipment status indicators, safety warnings, and work instruction displays. In warehousing and logistics, it works for shelf labels, bin location codes, and container classification signs. In office areas, it functions as workstation nameplates, meeting room signs, and fire evacuation diagrams. In public corridors, it provides directional guidance, bulletin boards, and policy displays. From factories and warehouses to office buildings and public spaces, one signage system covers most on-site management needs.

Application scenario: office and industrial signage usage

Application Case References

A manufacturing company in Changzhou previously used acrylic signs for equipment status boards. Every equipment parameter change required a new sign – over a hundred replacements in a single year, resulting in a mismatched, cluttered appearance. After switching to this system, bases were uniformly installed, and parameter changes now require only an insert swap. In one year, only three insert replacements were needed, and the site appearance improved significantly.

A logistics park previously marked bin locations with permanent markers on shelving, which became illegible over time and prone to errors. After adopting this system, each shelf received a uniform base with standardized printed location codes. Scanning the QR code provides instant bin details, improving inventory counting efficiency by nearly double.

A co-working space frequently updated meeting room information as tenants moved in and out. With this system, each meeting room has a fixed base. When a new tenant moves in, a corresponding insert is created and slid in; when they move out, the old insert is removed and replaced. No re-drilling or re-installation is required, enabling the signs to be reused continuously.

Customization Services

Bases can be custom-painted to match your corporate VI colors, and inserts support full-color printing. Non-standard sizes are available with mold development. An Excel template is provided for batch generation of variable data inserts such as serial numbers and QR codes.

For special working environments, material options include:

Indoor dry environments: Aluminum base with PVC insert.

Outdoor exposed environments: Stainless steel base with UV-resistant acrylic insert, plus sealing gasket. Note that transparent PC frames may yellow over time under prolonged sun exposure – this is normal material aging.

Humid high-temperature environments: Anti-corrosion coated aluminum base with stainless steel etched insert, plus breather valve.

Cleanroom environments: Stainless steel base with polyester film insert, with dust-free packaging.

Ordering Process

Select the base model and mounting method based on site conditions, confirm the insert size and print content, submit design files or fill out the content template, then proceed to production. FAQ

Q1: Can the base be removed after installation?

Yes. The base is designed to be removable – use the appropriate tools to take it down. We recommend confirming the mounting location in advance, as repeated installation and removal may damage the wall or equipment surface.

Q2: How often do the inserts need to be replaced?

There is no fixed replacement cycle – it depends entirely on whether the content needs updating. If the content remains unchanged, the insert can stay in place indefinitely. Indoors, PVC inserts typically last 3–5 years. For outdoor use, UV-resistant acrylic inserts are recommended.

Q3: Will outdoor signs fade or age over time?

The aluminum and stainless steel bases are treated with anti-corrosion coatings and will last over five years outdoors. For inserts, we recommend UV-resistant acrylic with sealing gaskets to slow fading and aging. Note that transparent PC windows will gradually yellow with prolonged outdoor exposure – this is normal material aging.

Q4: Can QR codes or barcodes be printed on the inserts?

Yes. High-precision printing supports clear output of QR codes, barcodes, and serial numbers. A template is provided for batch generation of variable data inserts.

Q5: Do magnetic mounts work on all surfaces?

No. Magnetic mounts are only suitable for ferrous metal surfaces. For non-ferrous surfaces such as walls, wood, or plastic, use adhesive or expansion bolts.

Q6: Can the insert be replaced by on-site staff?

Absolutely. The core concept of this product is "swap the insert, not the housing." No tools are required – simply pull out the old card and slide in the new one. On-site staff can perform the swap independently after a brief demonstration.
